Who We Are

Welcome to Local Leaders, LLC, a new website that helps affluent homeowners quickly and easily connect with the most trusted and most experienced experts in each of our categories: architects, builders, interior design, landscape design, kitchen and bath, remodeling, and real estate in New England.

We are just getting started and have a lot planned, but wanted to begin with creating a profile page for some of the leading experts in six categories. In addition, we publish a weekly newsletter, the Leader Alert, broadcast audio interviews with leaders in the industry, publish tips from the experts and maintain a large photo library.

Our mission is to take the pain and mystery out of finding – and choosing – the right person or company to help transform an existing home, design and build a custom dream home, or create an inspirational landscape.

The site includes layers of useful information, including profiles of proven local experts, sensational photographs of their work, and testimonials from customers.

Visitors to the site will be able to enter their zip code to locate and pre-screen experts in their area, as well as get information about real estate in their community and current home valuations.

Management Team

Stephen Moylan, founder, president, and CEO of Local Leaders, has more than 20 years experience in online and magazine publishing, database management, broadcast media, and live-event production. His strength is building successful teams and businesses.

Before starting Local Leaders, Moylan was president of the Boston division of Reed Business Information, responsible for a large portfolio of publications, websites, newsletters, and a research group. He traveled extensively in Asia and Europe building global brands for Reed.

He also has experience running a multimedia software and services company. As president and CEO of ThingWorld Multimedia, he focused on the sports and entertainment industries – including NBC, the National Football League, World Wrestling Federation, and the Olympics – helping them move digital content to the web, long before it was popular.

Prior to becoming involved in multimedia, Moylan was president and CEO of InfoWorld Media, a unit of International Data Group, and led a team that grew it into the largest computer trade magazine in the United States and a $100-million company. At that time, Moylan was featured on the cover of Folio magazine as one of the top business-to-business publishers in the country.

He also spent three years at CapCities/ABC as vice president of sales and marketing, and several years in broadcast radio and cable television.

Moylan attended Boston University on a football scholarship, graduating cum laude in 1984. He has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco. He lives north of Boston with his wife, Dr. Anne Moylan, and their two children. He is an avid boater, skier, runner, and youth sports coach.

 

Guntis Strazds, chief technology officer, has more than 25 years experience developing software at companies large and small. He is a strong team player, who enjoys learning new things and staying current.

He was involved in early-stage start-ups at Yoydyne Entertainment, Inc. -- which was acquired by Yahoo, Inc., in 1998 – and Echelon Development Corporation.

He also was principal engineer in the multimedia products group at Lotus Development Company and software architect at Learningways, a division of Davidson & Associates, Inc.

Strazds was vice-president of software development for ThingWorld Multimedia and chief software architect at Interactive Constructs, which was acquired by Follett in 2007.

Strazds graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he had a grade point average of 4.9 on a 5.0 scale, with dual degrees in computer science and philosophy and linguistics. He was a Phi Beta Kappa.

Strazds is an avid reader and martial arts black belt, who enjoys running, hiking, and motorcycle touring.
