Waterfront Dream Comes To Life

More than 12 years ago, Rhonda and Bob Nordstrom were visiting family when they happened to see a tiny cottage on the coast near Rockland, Mass. The couple, who had been hoping to relocate, decided that this was the place they wanted, and bought the property. Seven years later, they hired architect Carrie Shores, principal of Larson Shores Architects in Oakland, Calif., to help bring the vision to life. Inside the home are a number of energy-saving, green concepts to help minimize impact on both environment and wallet. Included in these features are: a larger number of high-efficiency glass windows and doors on the front and back of the house; ceiling fans for added ventilation; a high-efficiency propane furnace and more.
