MEET THE LEADERS
In 1980, Ted Goodnow -- then a teenager who had completed a two-year cabinet and furniture-making apprenticeship -- convinced his parents to give him his college money to start a woodworking business. A year later, his older brother joined him and the company became Goodnow Brothers. In 1983, Ted purchased his brother's share and changed the name of the business to Woodmeister Corporation. His wife, Kim, joined the company in 1986. In 2006, it became Woodmeister Master Builders to reflect its comprehensive construction capabilities and quality standards.
